The second model in the series was the Ducati ST4 model, launched in 1999 and manufactured until 2005. It packed a retuned version of the engine used by the Ducati 916 model.
The third model was introduced in 2001 under the Ducati ST4S designation and became available in 2002. Compared to the ST4 standard model, the ST4S was fitted with an improved suspension system and a larger engine.
In 2003, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati ST4S ABS, a sport-touring machine that, as its name says, featured an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for more reliable stopping power.
In the aesthetic department, the bike was similar to its predecessors, featuring a full fairing, a windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab handle, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, and a lightweight five-spoke alloy wheels.
In the performance department, the 2003 Ducati ST4S ABS packed the same 996cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine as the non-ABS model, fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, delivering 117 hp with a peak at 8,750 rpm and 98 Nm 72 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.
